At the start of the month, Inverness Caley Thistle announced the return of young striker Alfie Bavidge on a season long loan deal from Aberdeen.

Bavidge, 19, spent the second half of last season on loan in the highland capital and was key in the Caley Jags’ League 1 survival, finding the back of the net 6 times in 10 appearances.

However his spell in the highlands last season was cut short due to injury which saw him miss the final 8 games of the season.

“Buzzing to be back”

Bavidge is very happy to be back at the Caledonian Stadium, he recalled his spell in the highlands last season, stating that the experience was ‘brilliant’, and that he is looking forward to playing regularly in Scott Kellacher’s side.

The Dons prospect revealed he had a good think about the decision but decided that returning to the highlands was the right one for him, he also mentioned how he already knows most of the players and praised boss Scott Kellacher for his attacking style of play and being really good with him personally.

Praise for fellow Dons prospect

Bavidge isn’t the only player on loan from the Dons in the highland capital as Alfie Stewart also returned to the Caley Jags after he also spent the second half of last season in the highlands.

Bavidge touched on how good Stewart is and how the pair have played together for years and years so there is that mutual understanding of how the other likes to play.

Bavidge also revealed that it is a ‘bonus’ for himself living with someone who he has known for as long as he has and highlighted how strong the relationship between the two is.

Hoping to carry on from last season

Alfie was in great scoring form for the Caley Jags last season before injury struck and sidelined him for the remainder of the season, but Bavidge is now back at full fitness and is looking to pick up where he left off and continue the good form that we all saw from him during the last campaign.

Squad full of belief

Despite starting 5 points adrift of the other 9 sides in League 1, Bavidge feels that there is a lot of belief in the squad that they can ‘win most games’ and that they have the ability to do so. However he also insisted that it won’t be easy as there are a lot of teams that will want to be up there so is expecting a tough and competitive league.
